In the build up to the choir performing with the London Welsh Male Choir in their 1,000 voice concert at the Royal Albert Hall on October 13th 2018, the choir will be hosted by other choirs and at places of interest on the way.
Saturday 22nd September a joint concert with the Linlithgow Rugby Club Male Voice Choir at St. Michael’s Parish Church, Linlithgow
On Sunday 23rd September we will perform at St Michaels and St Georges Church West in a fundraising concert for The Maggies Foundation which will include our accompanying international soprano Ayse Goknur Shanal
From Scotland we head south to Newcastle to sing with the Backworth MVC on Wednesday 26th September
From Newcastle we head west whilst taking in the glorious sights of Whitby, with its historic connections to Australia through Captain James Cook and head over the Dales to historic York, for a concert with the York Philharmonic Choir in the York City Church on Saturday 29th September.
Heading further west to Chester where we will have a joint concert at the Chester Town Hall with the Chester MVC and Flint MVC with whom the AWMC became twinned with in 1984, on 30th September.
On Wednesday 3 October 18 we will perform with the Oswestry Orthopaedic MVC at the Whittington Church in Shropshire to raise funds for Hope House Hospice (a children’s hospice in Oswestry) and the Orthopaedic Hospital League of Friends. Among other pieces the joint choirs will perform Hafan Gobiath a song written as a fundraiser for Hope House which has been recorded by the international singing star Bryn Terfel
A trip to Liverpool for what is an ecumenical first on 4th October
Both the Anglican Cathedral and the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King have agreed for the choir to sing on the same day
We head to South Wales for a concert with the Beaufort choir whom we met at our last RAH appearance, on 6th October
On to Northampton for a concert with the Northampton MVC on 9th October before we head off to London for the London Welsh 1,000 voice concert on 13th October.
Whilst in London we will enjoy a reception to be held by the Australian High Commissioner at Australia House
