Tuesday 25th April — ANZAC DAY — Hastings Foreshore
2017 is the Centenary of the Sinai-Palestine Campaign and the Flanders Offensive. The image shows the devastation of the city of Ypres, notably the historic “Cloth Hall”. Ed)
Like most of Melbourne, Hastings shared in the inclement weather, but in spite of the weather, the Service was well supported by 35 choristers.
We were glad to have a shelter provided for the Choir but it was not sunshine that poured down from the sky. The Choir sang ‘The Lord is my Shepherd’ (to the tune Crimond)’, and the New Zealand and Australian National Anthems. The mini concert which followed the service attracted a small but appreciative audience. Thanks to Greg Pennicuik and Maurie Richardson for their organisation of this annual contribution made by AWMC members.
